Metadata and Collaborate

The sharing of Data in Collaborate is controlled by the User Role Matrix. You can create as many different user roles with different rights/permissions as you need to manage and control the various Collaborations you will be running. However, you can at any time change the user role and corresponding user rights for any or all users of an ongoing collaboration.

Under the Account Settings you will find the User Roles Matrix:

When sharing a project with Metadata in Collaborate you basically have four (4) options:

    • You can choose to not share metadata with your collaborating partner.
    • You can choose to share your metadata with a View Only user role.
    • You can choose to share your metadata with a Edit user role.
    • You can choose either option 2 or 3 above only with Metadata that has a specific Sharing Tag in their definition.

Option 1: No Sharing of Metadata

Metadata will NOT be shared or visible for your collaboration partner, either in the Project View properties panel or in the viewport metadata info dialog boxes.
